The end, when it comes, is going to be very messy and very expensive. That's according to James Parker, an American scientist/engineer who writes a regular column for the US's Motorcyclist magazine. Parker was writing about the world oil industry and, according to research he's done on OPEC oilfields, world oil production has already peaked and we're now on the slippery downside to nowhere. In fact, he reckons we've only got about 30 years worth of oil reserves left.
